Freespace SCP – Absolutely amazing
I love playing the occasional game and really like the sci-fi, action, flight sim, type game. I found an excellent open source game that fills those categories and looks awesome. It is freespace scp. Google search it, you won’t be disappointed. It’s a long time to download it, but it really shines through on it’s visual effects and plot. It’s nice seeing commercial apps get opened up and then customized to work better with more platforms and with newer hardware. I’ll probably review this one in a bit, but it is very good.

People that have computers for gaming have Windows, Period. The rest play on the scraps, or beg and hope that games get ported over, wonder if it will work in WINE, pay for Cedega (and still hope), or just play the various games that are easily available, and open source (some of these are some good fun, for some time, but if one gets old there are many others you could try to pass the time. So what is more amazing is that it worked years before it was opened up. Also the hardware support is still limited by the ported OS, which is generally either the same, or less, depending on the type of hardware.
