What I’ve been up to….

I finally got the portfolio (at least the beginnings of it) on the browerstudios.com site.  Hopefully people can see that we do indeed know what we are doing when we do photography/image work.  I’ve also been swamped working on some projects that I’ll let everyone know about when we get it all finished.  I’m still alive, just super busy.

Ubuntu 9.10 – First Impressions

I really like it.  It seems to boot much quicker and the new ATI driver really works better with my machine.  It can actually do full screen video while running compiz without needing to do any tweaking.  That really relieved me.  It was a long standing issue that was starting to frustrate me.  I’m still setting up all of my apps again and restoring backups, but I’ve gotten everything vital done and so far haven’t run into any issues.  We’ll see how it holds out, but right now, I would strongly suggest anyone using an older version of Ubuntu to upgrade.  The only thing I wish could be better is Empathy.  It’s a great app, but seems to lack the overall polish of Pidgin.  At least it works better with webcams and mics.
